About

Alvord is a Type A General Law city and has a governing body consisting of a Mayor and five council members. The term of office for each council member is two years. Elections are held in May of even years for Places 3, 4 and 5 and May of odd years for the Mayor and Places 1 and 2.

Council meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 215 West Elm Street.
