Public Works

The City of Alvord Public Works Department maintains over 600 water connections and 600 wastewater connections, along with all city streets, rights-of-way, and city facilities. The Department is led by Public Works Director Jerry Anderson.

The city operates four water wells, two elevated water storage tanks, eleven wastewater lift stations, and one wastewater treatment plant. All facilities are operated and maintained by licensed operators in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Day-to-day maintenance of streets and signage are handled by city staff, while resurfacing of streets is accomplished through an interlocal agreement with Wise County.
