PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The City of Alvord invites residents to participate in the development of the City’s Comprehensive Plan.  The City will host the 2nd Town Hall where residents are encouraged to appear and provide input regarding the progress and development of the plan’s goals and objectives.

The community meeting is scheduled for: Thursday, July 10, 2025 @ 6:00 p.m.
and will be held at the Alvord City Hall, 215 West Elm Street, Alvord, Texas.

The City has received a Resilient Communities Program (RCP) Grant from the General Land Office (GLO) to create a new Comprehensive Plan. The plan will serve as a blueprint for a community’s future development that ensures responsible growth, outlines desired land use and transportation, stimulates economic development, and facilitates other essential aspects. It acts as a guide for decision-making by city officials, particularly when it comes to zoning, land use, and infrastructure investments. Essentially, it’s a roadmap for how a community intends to grow and evolve over time.

The city encourages all residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to attend. Your feedback will directly influence the Comprehensive Plan, ensuring it aligns with the community’s vision for Alvord’s future.
