Yes, the charge for a garage sale permit is $5.00 and can be purchased at City Hall, 215 West Elm Street.

 

The City of Alvord Public Works Department tests the water quality on a monthly basis. This is done to maintain the best quality and safest drinking water possible for the community.  An annual water-quality report is sent to all residents and business within the water district in June.

Come by or call City Hall at (940) 427-5916 to reserve the pavilion at Elm Creek Park. A pavilion rental form will need to be completed. Daily Rental rate is $75.00, Weekly Rental Rate is $350.00 and there is a $150.00 Cleaning Deposit for all rentals. This entitles you to the restrooms, electricity and lights if needed.

We do not currently have a public swimming pool in Alvord.

The city allows any type of domestic cats and dogs.  Dogs who have been found to attack when unprovoked or have a history of being aggressive will have to be registered annually as a dangerous animal.  For those registered dogs a sign must be placed on the property to warn others of the dog.  All dogs and cats must be vaccinated for rabies every year.
